Adding Value for Your Clients as a Trusted Partner
Would you like to totally transform your freelance business? Try partnering with your clients instead of just working for them. Sounds fancy, right? It's not, but it is a game-changer.
Top Tips
Embrace a Growth Mindset for Business Growth: Start by setting aside dedicated time each week for learning and skill development. Experiment with new tools or techniques on personal projects before incorporating them into client work. Regularly reassess and expand your service offerings based on market demands and your evolving skillset. By consistently evolving your skills and offerings, you'll stay relevant, attract higher-paying clients, and uncover new business growth opportunities.
Focus on Solving Client Problems: Start each client engagement by conducting a thorough needs assessment that includes asking open-ended questions about their challenges, goals, and what success looks like to them. Listen actively and take detailed notes. Make sure you are researching the industry so you understand common pain points. Then, throughout the project, consistently relate your work back to these identified issues. By framing your work in terms of problem-solving, you demonstrate concrete value, which can lead to expanded projects and justify premium pricing.

What We're Loving
Cookbooks
I don't know about you, but cooler temps make me want to bake! I'm working my way through some of the recipe's in the Baking Yesteryear (affiliate link) cookbook this year, and I've loved all of them! My favorite so far is the banana cake. Light, fluffy, and a refreshing change from chocolate and vanilla.
For actual food (I seriously prefer dessert), I keep reaching for Milk Street: Tuesday Nights: More than 200 Simple Weeknight Suppers that Deliver Bold Flavor, Fast (affiliate link). The recipes are packed with flavor and I can have most of them on the table in 20 minutes. Even my picky eaters are feeling adventurous because of these recipes.
Monitor Light Bar
I don't have room on my desk for a lamp. And even if I did, the cat would delight in knocking it over. I've wanted a monitor light bar (affiliate link) for several years but the most popular choice costs right around $200. Ridiculous, right? I decided to take a leap and get a less expensive version that gets rave reviews, and I honestly feel ridiculous for waiting so long to get one. My desk is more inviting, and my eye strain has majorly improved in the last month. If you've been considering one, I highly recommend.
