Sick of Researching Publications to Pitch?

Still wasting hours hunting for publications that might take your pitch?
This week, I tested how well AI (ahem, ChatGPT) can help freelance writers like us dig up the right clients—faster. Turns out, it’s not perfect... but it’s definitely faster than falling down Google rabbit holes.
Curious to see how I did it (and what tripped me up)? Read on.

How to Use AI to Quickly Generate a List of Publications You Can Pitch
Using AI to find freelance writing clients isn’t magic, but it's getting better at it.
If you’ve ever wished you could outsource the worst part of pitching—researching who to pitch—this is for you. I’ll show you how I used ChatGPT to build a targeted list of travel publications, refine the prompts that didn’t quite work, and what I learned along the way (spoiler: always check the links!).
Leveraging AI in Evaluating Clients

What I'm Loving
BOOK: 1177 B.C. A Graphic History of the Year Civilization Collapsed
By Eric H. Cline, illustrated by Glynnis Fawkes
If you love history and archaeology like I do, then you're going to love this book. It's done in graphic novel style, which makes it fun to read. And there are lots of smirky jibes at how we, as humans, tend to make assumptions about history, based on the slimmest of archaeologic evidence.
This book would suit anyone who enjoys learning about ancient history. And it's particularly good for people who find graphic novels easier to read than normal books. If you grab it through the affiliate link below, I'd love to know what you think of it.
Wrap Up
And that's it for this week. We hope you find the experiments with AI helpful. We don't claim to know it all, but we're working to learn as fast as we can.
