Remember when spell-check felt revolutionary? (Yes, I'm dating myself here.) We've come a long way since then, and the latest AI tools are causing both excitement and anxiety in our freelance writing community.

AI isn't here to replace us. It's here to handle the grunt work we never wanted to do in the first place. I'm talking about those tedious tasks that eat up your billable hours and creative energy.

Think of AI as your research assistant, your brainstorming buddy, and your guide to complex topics. It's not about letting AI do your work for you. You still need to do some of that (think writing). It's about letting it help you work better, faster, and more efficiently.

Cable Management Box

Don't laugh! I know I can't be the only one who will benefit from one of these. I've had a nest of cables under my desk for way too long. I don't really look down there very much, so it wasn't an issue until the dang cat stepped on my power switch while I want in the middle of a coaching call. Everything went dark: camera, computer (which had just started charging), and my video lights. I was so embarrassed! It was a "my dog ate my homework situation. I needed a larger box to be able to hold my surge protector, and this two pack (affiliate link) solved not only my under desk problem, but also the growing issue under my TV. Highly recommend (and it keeps the critters from turning everything off!

Cascade Mountain Aluminum Trekking Poles

This is another "don't laugh" item. Ice is not my friend. Like, really. I fall. A lot. I live on a farm, and the animals must be cared for come ice or high water (which also makes mud and slippery). We had a winter storm here last week and my ice cleats on my shoes weren't cutting it (see what I did there?). Then I remembered the trekking (think hiking) poles I got for Christmas came with ice tips. OMG! These things are amazing! (affiliate link) I felt like a polar explorer tramping around out there. Best part, they are inexpensive, sturdy, and there are two of them.
